On Friday, October 10th, we set sail on one of the most beautiful days of the season aboard Newport Classic Cruises, surrounded by sun, sea breeze, and a whole lot of love. Our Disco Sailing Cruise was more than just a celebration; it was a reflection of what Newport Out has been building over the past 8 incredible years: community, visibility, and joy.

The fresh autumn air was alive with laughter, music, and chatter as friends gathered to celebrate, with stunning Drag Performers Lucy & Ricky Diamonds heating the atmosphere.
Half of the boat was filled with people who have become part of this community we’ve nurtured together. And in the most serendipitous Newport way, a couple visiting from San Francisco spotted our giant rainbow flag and joined us last minute! That spontaneous moment captured the spirit of what we do, welcoming everyone to belong, connect, and celebrate.
This event also marked a personal milestone, my birthday! (Hi, it’s Dani, the person behind this account 💁🏽♂️). To celebrate surrounded by such wonderful people and places reminded me why we started Newport Out in the first place: to highlight the businesses, experiences, and humans that make Newport so special.
Huge shout-out to the amazing crew at Newport Classic Cruises, who helped make the day seamless and full of sparkle. You’re the kind of local partners that make this city shine.
But beyond the joy, there’s something deeper at play. In a political climate that’s becoming increasingly hostile to our community, joy itself becomes an act of resistance. Every sail, every laugh, every flag we raise is a reminder that our existence is powerful and that we must continue to stand together.
