☔ WEATHER UPDATE: Rain or shine, the fest is on, and we're pumped! We've got the Great Friends Meeting House as a backup in bad weather. ☔

Newport Pride Weekend is back! This year's celebration is bigger and better than ever, with a full weekend of events to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.


Here are some additional details that you can add to make the event even more exciting:

  • The Pride Bike Parade will start at 12:00 PM and end at 1:00 PM.

  • The Pride Fest will be held from 12:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Great Friends Meeting House (21 Farewell St).

  • Admission to the Pride Fest is FREE.

  • There will be a variety of food trucks and vendors at the Pride Fest, so you can find something to eat for every taste.

  • The Pride Fest will feature live music, drag shows, face painting, games, and activities for all ages.

  • Pride Flags can be purchased at the Pride Fest for $25.


Pride Fest is a safe space for all community members to express themselves without fear of judgment or discrimination. So join us in celebrating our diversity and positively impacting our world! Fri, June 23rd - 6 pm - Drag Cruise

Join us as we kick off the Newport Pride Weekend festivities in the most fabulous way possible. Prepare to be dazzled by the one and only Trailer Park Girls, a fierce squad of drag performers known for their side-splitting comedy routines and outfits that defy the laws of fashion. They'll have you in stitches and living your best life as they take the stage and command your attention. Get ready to clutch your pearls, darlings!


Sat, June 24th - 11 am - 6 pm - Fest & Market

Join us for the annual Newport Pride on Saturday, June 24th! We are proud to host an event that celebrates the diversity of our city, where everyone can feel accepted and embraced. This event will be filled with live music, art displays, food and drinks, and various activities for all ages. Come out and show your pride! Let's make this a day to remember

Grab some friends and join us, in partnership with Bike Newport, for the super fun annual Newport Pride Ride 🏳️‍🌈 🚲 on Saturday, June 24th at 12 pm. This easy 2-mile bike parade around Newport starts and concludes at the Great Friends Meeting House (21 Farewell St) in time for the Pride Fest.


Sat, June 24th - 9 pm - 1 am - Afterdark at Parlor

Afterdark is back! Join us for this eclectic experience as part of the 6th annual Newport Pride Weekend! On Saturday, June 24th, from 9 PM - 1 AM @ Parlor Newport (200 Broadway).


[Registration is now closed] Mon, June 26th - Golf Tournament organized by VHBC Pride with proceeds to Newport Pride.

 

Getting There / Parking

Did you know the festival is along a major RIPTA bus line from Providence? Take the bus in from out of town! Another great option is the Providence to Newport ferry (you can take your bikes on for free!)


The Great Friends Meeting House is located at 21 Farewell Street in the heart of Newport. There are multiple daily rate private parking options just down Marlborough Street, and the Visitor's Center parking garage is only .25 miles away.


Where to eat/drink during or after the fest

We highly encourage you to stay at the fest during the whole time to enjoy resources, vendors & performers. There will be food trucks, but if you feel eager to go and explore the area. We recommend visiting the Eat + Drink page from Newport Out's & Discover Newport for more options.


Our Mission

We support and work with the LGBTQ+ community and its allies in the Newport, RI area. We advocate for equality and more inclusive policies, and safe and welcoming spaces, provide resources and education to expand community understanding, support diverse LGBTQ+ identities and history, and produce events for people to connect, learn, and celebrate.
